In 1980, a tailor, called Lakis, who used to live in Athens,
came to San Stefanos to spend his holidays with his family and he fell
in love with the place. He decided to give up his life in Athens and move to Corfu,
build a house here and stay for good.
As the years went by, tourism developed in
San Stefanos and Lakis started building apartments to rent to visitors, which consisted of one,
two or three bedrooms; he also created a gift shop.
Today, his daughters, Peli and Maria,
take care of the apartments, and they’re really good at it!
